Economies of Scale

The reduction in long-run average and marginal costs arising from an increase in size of an operating unit (for example, a factory or a plant). Economies of scale can be internal to an organization or external. Internal Economies of Scale can be achieved by reducing cost due to technological and management factors. External factors responsible for Economies of Scale are effect of technology in an industry.
